Special Issue:Evolution, Development, and Genetics of Floral Display〞Form, Size, and Arrangement

November 2017, Volume 55 Issue 6, Pages 485每593.

Cover illustration: Evolution, Development, and Genetics of Floral Display〞Form, Size, and Arrangement
The floral morphology, including floral symmetry, is highly diverse in Solanaceae. The cover image shows flowers of Nicotiana obtusifolia M. Martens & Galeotti, Schizanthus pinnatus Ruiz & Pav., Solandra grandiflora Sw., Browallia speciosa Hook., Schizanthus grahamii Gillies, Nicandra physalodes (L.) Gaertn., Capsicum annuum L., Calibrachoa elegans (Miers) Stehmann & Semir, and Nicotiana alata Link & Otto (from left to right, top to bottom), which have evolved distinct floral symmetrical patterns to adapt to animal pollinators of different sizes, shapes, and behaviors. Photographs by Jingbo Zhang. See Zhang et al., pp. 581每590 in this issue.
