Abstract: Abstract Five new species and one new variety of Carex from Zhejiang, China are described and illustrated. They are C. tianmushanica (sect. Mitratae), C. pseudotristachya (sect. Mitratae), C. densipilosa (sect. Lageniformes), C. austrozhejiangensis (sect. Rhomboidales), C. chaofangii (sect. Rhomboidales), and C. longerostrata C. A. Mey. var. exaristata (sect. Laxiflorae).
