Abstract: Close examination of the type material of Podocarpium lancangense Y. Y. Qian has shown that this species is indistinguishable from Hylodesmum podocarpum (DC.) H. Ohashi & R. R. Mill ssp. podocarpum, and thus is reduced to synonymy herein.
Key words: Hylodesmum, new synonymy, China.
