Abstract: Photinopteris J. Sm., a new recorded genus of Drynariaceae, is reported in this paper. It was found in the Xishuangbanna Nature Reserve. The occurrence of Photinopteris in southern Yunnan is of phytogeographical interest, not only adding an important genus to the Chinese Pteridophyta flora, but also giving a fresh piece of evidence of the closely floristic relationship between this area and south-easternAsia. It is of great value for studies of the Pteridophyta flora of Yunnan.
Key words: Photinopteris, P. speciosa
