The 2024 JSE Outstanding Papers Awards

In 2015, the Journal of Systematics and Evolution (JSE) established the JSE Outstanding Papers Awards to recognize the important, high-impact papers published in JSE in the previous two years.

To encourage outstanding authors, attract more high-quality submissions, and better serve related academic disciplines, in 2024, JSE revised the selection process for outstanding papers and increased the number of selected papers.

Recently, JSE formed a review committee consisting of the Editors-in-Chief and the Editorial Board Members. The committee conducted a comprehensive evaluation of articles published in 2022 based on five criteria: importance of the topic, innovative content, scientific rigor of research, practical applicability of findings, and readability of the articles, ultimately selecting 10 outstanding papers. The winners of the JSE Outstanding Papers Awards receive a certificate and a monetary prize.

Here we are delighted to announce the 2024 JSE Outstanding Papers and highlight the significance of the ten awarded papers. Congratulations to the authors of each of these papers and thank you all for publishing your exciting, cutting-edge research in JSE.

We also cordially invite our colleagues in systematics and evolution to submit their first‐rate research papers to JSE and be considered for these awards in the coming years!
