Abstract: In the present paper, the somatic chromosome numbers of 2 varieties of Actinidia chinensis Planch. are counted as follows: A. chinensis var. chinensis 2n=58(2x), A. chinensis var. hispida 2n=ca. 174(6x). Both numbers are reported for the first timefor the species.
