Abstract: Our observation of the leaf epidermis of many species in Gramineae shows that Paspalinae Keng & Keng f. (nom. nud.) and Paspalidiinae Keng & Keng f. (nom. nud.) are two good subtribes, and the characters of the genus Brachiaria Griseb. are quite different from those of the genus Urochloa Beauv.
