Abstract: This paper is an outcome of taxonomic studies of Chinese Sauropus and Cleistanthus. The former consists of two sections and 14 species of which three species are new; the latter is of 6 species, of which 3 species are first recorded from China. These two genera are mainly distributed in southwestern and south China.
