A new species of Thamnocalamus and supplementary description for Fargesia grossa from Xizang, China

Abstract: Thamnocalamus unispiculatus Yi & J. Y. Shi, a new species of the Bambusoideae from southern Xizang, China, is described and illustrated. It is the first flowering and fruiting species of Thamnocalamus collected in China. It is distinguished from other species of Thamnocalamus by each spathe enclosing one spikelet and stigmas 2. The supplementary description of flowers and fruits of Fargesia grossa Yi was also given.
