Abstract: A taxonomic revision of the genus Lepisorus sect. Hymenophyton Ching ex S. L. Yu & Y. X. Lin from China was made. Rhizome scales and paraphyses were found to be important characters for sectional de-limitation and species identification. Sixteen species recorded in Flora Reipublicae Popularis Sinicae are reduced into five species, namely L. albertii, L. thaipaiensis, L. likiangensis, L. crassipes, and L. clathratus. SPSS statisti-cal analysis of the rhizome scales also indicated that the 16 species could be grouped into five distinct groups.
