Abstract: species of Cleistanthus (Euphorbiaceae) are presently known from Guangdong and Hainan: Cleistanthus, dongfangensis is a new combination based on Phyllanthus dongfangensis. Its morphological description is corrected here. C. tonkinensis and C. sumatranus are new records in Guangdong Province. C. tomentosus is found in Baoting and Ya Xian of Hainan Province.
